Biography
Current Occupation: Retired High School Teacher
Degrees Held: BA, Mathematics, Lawrence University; Masters Math Education
Teaching Experience: I retired in 2006 after 24 years of teaching in Appleton. I taught mathematics at all of the AADS high schools, mostly at Appleton West.
Community Involvement: Formerly Treasurer of the League of Women Voters Appleton; the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is my spiritual community. I helped with book keeping at the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust, volunteer tutor for the Appleton's A Better Chance program and co-chair Appleton United to amend. Formerly, Move to Amend, this group gatherer signatures to place an advisory referendum on the ballot in Appleton asking for a US Constitutional Amendment stating, in abbreviated form, that "Money is not Speech" and "Corporations are not People" (it passed with 70% approval in November, 2014).
Hobbies and other activities: I enjoy music, reading, travel, sewing and knotting.
Statement: I think Torch will provide many opportunities for genuine conversations on interesting and varied topics with knowledgeable people.
