ATTENDEES: Sue Bennett via Zoom, David Debbink, Walt Hedges, Barb Kelly, Bill Kelly, Dale Lewellyn, Elaine Lewellyn, John Palmquist, Jan Mirenda Smith, Kris Stahl, Peter Thiel, Scott Valitchka, and Bert Wiegand.
GUESTS: Sofia Wilson via Zoom
A buffet dinner was served by Touchmark.
BUSINESS MEETING: Bert called the meeting to order at 6:14 p.m.
MINUTES: There were no corrections or additions to the 3/19/26 minutes. A motion was made by Walt to accept the minutes, which was seconded by David. All were in favor and the minutes were approved as published.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Barb reported a beginning balance of $2,285.26 as of 3/12/26. There were no payments and no receipts, leaving a balance of $2,285.26 as of 4/10/26. It was moved by Walt and seconded by John to accept the Treasurer’s report. All were in favor and the report was approved.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Walt noted that Dale is the speaker for the May meeting. His topic will be Cryptocurrency.
OLD BUSINESS: Bill reported that Nancy had greeted the members before tonight’s meeting but was unable to attend the meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: There was no new business.
Walt made a motion, seconded by Bill, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried, and the business meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m
Presentation: Scott and John presented “Part IV – The History and Cultural Impact of Mining in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.” Thank you, Scott and John, for your very interesting and educational presentation!
