ATTENDEES: Sue Bennett via Zoom, Nancy Van Rooy Bodway, David Debbink, Marcia Debbink, Paul Freiberg, Walt Hedges, Barb Kelly, Bill Kelly, John Palmquist, Jan Mirenda Smith via Zoom, Kris Stahl, Peter Thiel, Scott Valitchka, Bert Wiegand, and guest Sofia Wilson via Zoom
A buffet dinner was served by Touchmark.
BUSINESS MEETING: Bert called the meeting to order at 6:22 p.m.
Bill asked Sofia to please update the group about her work in Las Vegas. She reported
that the people she is working with are feeding 500 -700 people per day. Everyone
applauded their remarkable work.
MINUTES: There were no corrections or additions to the 11/20/2025 minutes. A motion
was made by Bill to accept the minutes, which was seconded by David. All were in favor
and the minutes were approved as published.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Barb reported a beginning balance of $2,096.09 as of
11/14/25. There were receipts of $900.00 for dues and no disbursements leaving a
balance of $2,996.09 as of 12/12/25. It was moved by Bill and seconded by Scott to
accept the Treasurer's report. All were in favor and the report was approved. Barb
reminded members to pay their dues if they haven't already paid them.
VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT: Walt reported that 2026 volunteer speakers are now
scheduled for January, February, and March, but speakers are still needed for next
April, and May, as well as for the fall months of October, November, and December.
OLD BUSINESS: Bill reminded the group about the funeral for former member, Jim
Baumbach, that will be held 11/20/25.
Barb reported on the upcoming IATC Convention. It will be held June 11-13 in Winston
Salem, and IATC will reimburse delegates $300 if they attend. Paul plans on attending
and graciously offered to give his $300 to another Club member, if someone else would
decide that he or she would also like to attend the convention. Paul went on to describe
the new look of the Torch Magazine and upcoming changes in the staff and IATC
officers.
NEW BUSINESS: There was no new business.
It was moved by Paul and seconded by Walt to adjourn the business meeting. All were
in favor and the business meeting was adjourned at 6:33 p.m
Presentation: Barb gave a very enlightening and instructional presentation about our
Torch Club of the Fox Valley website titled, "Overview of the Torch Website." It was an
excellent refresher showing all that is available for members and anyone else who takes
the time to review the website. She also showed how our local club connects to the
IATC website which then makes their website resources available to users. Members
expressed their appreciation to Barb for her ongoing work with our Club's website and
willingness to help others navigate the website. Thank you, Barb, for your very helpful
presentation!
