BUSINESS MEETING
Bill chaired the meeting and called us to order at 6:11 PM. Paul was in attendance but driving at the time.
Sofia was able to join us again from Nevada (1,800 miles away). She wasn't the only one joining from afar. Karen joined again from North Carolina (970 miles) and Paul was on the road in Pennsylvania (600 miles).
September's minutes were approved by consensus.
Treasurer's report from Barb:
Beginning balance in account: $2,864.24
Domain name renewed: - 21.17
$10 dues paid by 3 members: + 30.00
Current balance: $2,873.07
Treasurer's report was accepted by consensus.
Bill announced that Walt will present in November and Richard in December. We currently have openings for presentations in January, February, April, and May of 2021.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Richard testified before the Wisconsin Governor's People's Map Commission (https://govstatus.egov.com/peoplesmaps). The commission was established to draw fair, impartial maps for the Legislature to take up in 2021. Go to their website to learn more or submit testimony.
Mary Poulson announced that the Noon Hour Philosopher events will hopefully restart again in February of 2021.
Kris received an email from Scott Stanfield, Editor of the Torch Magazine. Her paper, “Special Educators,” will be printed in the upcoming Winter edition of the magazine. This is the second time Kris' paper will be published in the magazine. Her first paper, “Robert M. La Follette, Sr.: A Man Worth Remembering,” was published in the Spring 2020 edition.
