BUSINESS MEETING: Walt conducted the meeting for Bert and called the meeting to order at 6:17 p.m.
Dale Lewellyn introduced his guest, Greta Rogers.

MINUTES: There were no corrections or additions to the 4/16/26 minutes. A motion was made by Bill to accept the minutes, which was seconded by Dale. All were in favor and the minutes were approved as published.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Barb reported a beginning balance of $2,285.26 as of 4/10/26.  There were no receipts  and no disbursements, leaving a balance of $2,285.26 as of 5/15/26.  It was moved by Bill and seconded by Dale, to accept the Treasurer’s report.  All were in favor and the report was approved.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Walt reported that 2026 volunteer speakers are now scheduled for September and possibly October.  Speakers are still needed for November and December.

OLD BUSINESS:
Walt reminded members about the upcoming IATC Convention.  It will be held June 11-13 in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  He noted that Bert had emailed the group with additional information about the convention and raised the question of wondering about making the speakers’ presentations available to all Torch Club members.

Barb and Bill graciously invited our club members to the annual picnic at their home on Thursday, August 20.

NEW BUSINESS:  There was no new business.
The business meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m

Presentation:  Dale gave a very interesting presentation on Cryptocurrency.  It was especially helpful for those present because none of them had any experience with cryptocurrencies.  One important take away from his talk was for people to be extremely cautious when considering using cryptocurrencies, and to know that it is probably best not to use cryptocurrencies at this time – there are too many unknown variables and great risk because there are no government assurances regarding the safety of one’s money.  Thank you, Dale, for your educational presentation! It is available as a PowerPoint here.
