ATTENDEES: Nancy Van Rooy Bodway, David Debbink, Marcia Debbink, Walt Hedges, Barb Kelly, Bill Kelly, Dale Lewellyn, John Palmquist, Kris Stahl, Peter Thiel, and Bert Wiegand
      Guests:  Doug and  Marti Wheeler
A buffet dinner was served by Touchmark.
      
BUSINESS MEETING: Bert called the meeting to order at 6:08  p.m.
      MINUTES: There were no corrections or additions to the September  18, 2025, minutes. A motion was made by Bill to accept the minutes, which was  seconded by David. All were in favor and the minutes were approved as  published.
      
TREASURER’S REPORT: Barb reported a beginning balance of $2,034.28  as of 9/15/25.  She then reported that  she had made a payment of $23.19 for the Torch Fox Valley domain name leaving a  balance of $2,011.09 as of 10/09/25.  It  was moved by Bill and seconded by Walt to accept the Treasurer’s report. All  were in favor and the report was accepted. 
      
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Volunteer speakers are still needed  for next February, April, and May.
      
OLD BUSINESS:  Gratitude was expressed once again to Barb for  her work on the Mary Poulson memorial books project.
      
NEW BUSINESS:  The  International Torch Club is looking for nominations for the Board of  Directors.  Our Paul Frieberg is the  current Treasurer.
       
It was noted that the  process for submitting articles for publication in the “Torch Magazine” has  changed from having a Club officer submit the articles to having the individual  members submit the articles.  Kris Stahl  recently submitted her article on “The Fluoride Controversy” and is awaiting  word as to whether it will be approved for publication.  Bill made a motion, seconded by Walt, to  support Kris’ submission of her paper.   All were in favor, and the motion was passed. 
      
Barb reminded members to pay their dues next month or in December at the latest. She will send out information about the dues within the next week or two.
It was moved by Dale and seconded by David to adjourn the business meeting. All were in favor and the business meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m
Presentation: David Debbink presented “No Need for ROI – A tale of adventure, investigation, education and friendship” featuring his guest, Doug Wheeler. David’s presentation was about their (The Vair Guys’) time together restoring David’s Corvair that he bought in 1986 up to the present day. They not only rebuilt the car, they built their friendship during the restoration of the car.
